Lori Giesey

When a serious car accident devastated her life as a happy and active wife, mother, and leader in her community, Lori Giesey chose to fight back. She chose surgery over doctors’ incorrect diagnosis, and full recovery over their limiting post-surgery prognosis. She even chose facing off with the voices from her past that told her she wasn’t good enough, strong enough, or worthy of being whole and healthy again. Relentless in her pursuit to reclaim “the real Lori” and experience her true potential, she chose to embark on the adventure of her life—and stay on it, even when the terrain got rough. Within a few years, she was a business owner again, a regular half-marathon runner, a high-adventurer, and a writer—enjoying life with her family. She captured her triumphant story in A Moment in Time: Where Accidents Become Opportunities.

Over the years, Lori has held various leadership roles with adults and youth. She worked with young women to create “Girl’s Camp” adventures for nearly two decades; and in the past ten years, she has enjoyed creating and participating in high-adventure team opportunities where individuals learn that the choice to create and live your own highest adventure is a lot easier and a lot more fun and rewarding than just letting life happen to you.

Today, as a partner at Saved By Story Publishing, Lori is helping others to write and share their stories while publishing a series of children’s books of her own titled The Cousin Chronicles. Of course, she’s still enjoying new adventures of participating in marathon, ultra-marathon, and triathlon races. Through all of her writing and adventures, Lori continues to inspire and empower both young and old to reach higher, go further, and become more than they ever imagined.

Lori loves traveling with her husband and best friend, Mike, and they have recently found their perfect spot in the Black Hills of South Dakota where they are creating their own special family haven.
