Amanda & Aaron Johnson

Amanda Johnson alchemizes twenty-five years of transformative experiences through story literacy, writing, and narrative medicine to fulfill her mission: to equip individuals to use humanity’s most innate tools to transmute the pain of their backstory into a more magically-ever-after for themselves, their loved ones, and those they serve.
After several years of helping others question, recognize, and articulate ideas and arguments as a teacher and writing coach, Amanda uncovered her true intention. Merging lessons, skills, and tools acquired from experiments with self-image and psycho-cybernetics, a Socratic approach to the Classics in the honors program, child development and psychology of learning classes in the teacher training, social-emotional literacy workshops in the transformational facilitator program, and adventures in motherhood, she committed her life to changing the world with more powerful messaging. Immediately, she realized the deeper call to adventure was supporting helping professionals as they excavated and saved the backstories that prevented them from living, loving, and leading without sacrificing too much safety, sanity, and soul. The value of the books and brands they developed paled in comparison to the renewal that resulted from learning how to intentionally co-author their lives.
Known today as The Story Oracle, Amanda partners with organizations and individual helping professionals, creatives, coaches, CEOs, educators, and parents who want to learn how to use Story, Writing, and Community to open portals of (re)connection and belonging, (re)build resilience and trust, and (re)claim and leverage latent superpowers in themselves and their families, workplaces, and communities.
With her partners at Saved By Story, she midwifes paradigm-changing brands, content, and more whole thought leaders and storytellers into the world with story-saving quests and message-manifesting retreats. From inspiration to impact, she and her team help inspired souls dissolve the pain, reorganize their sacred material, and become truer to intention with every piece of content they craft, offering they launch, and system they develop to change the world.
In 2013, Amanda wrote Upside-Down Mommy and shared The Butterfly Approach philosophy responsible for her personal and professional growth. In 2018, she published Upside-Down Messenger and made The Messenger Matrix more visible. In 2022, she published two titles: You Can’t Make This St*ry Up is a collaboration with twenty clients curated to help creatives and coaches recognize and lean into the magic and mess of the process, and Raised by Story is a collaboration with her son crafted to share the experience and results of mindfully engaging Story to cultivate character and agency in children and eventually culture.
She lives in Prescott, Arizona, with her high-school-sweetheart-turned-husband and loves spending time with her favorite story buddy, business partner, and son when he returns home from his world-changing adventures.
Entrepreneurial at heart, Aaron Johnson has been both deeply involved with start-ups and mesmerized by Story and the hero’s journey since he was a child. When he began paving his own non-traditional education and career paths and rediscovered some of his own potential through Improv, Debate, and Mock Trial competitions, he quickly realized that every system and solution needs to be unique because every person’s vision, mission, and path is different.
As Co-founder and Business Systems & Fulfillment Wizard at Saved By Story—a writing and publishing house focused on writing truer individual and collective stories—he wields his magic like one of his heroes. Think Harry Potter, but replace the wand with a project plan, the invisible cloak with a keyboard, and the unnatural talent for magic with one for business growth and systems that makes heads spin when people find out how old he is. (He was only nineteen when he rallied all of his favorite people and co-founded this business.) He truly is, “The boy who makes everyone’s lives so much easier and more fun!” as he helps new authors discover their optimal publishing pathway, co-create and manage their project plan, and figure out all the business and techy stuff at every stage of building their dreams.
As Conference Director of the Partners in Treatment Conference on Mental Health, Aaron is expanding its impact using intuitive systems and soulful technology. At the heart of this vast community and its communication, Aaron leverages everything he has learned about connection and leadership from mentors, personal adventures, and stories into his approach to systems, teams, building businesses, and creating life-and-work-enhancing experiences.
When he’s not masterminding or managing, Aaron spends his time meditating on and writing about big ideas, important lessons, and the power of Story. In 2022, his healing-through-writing experience was published in You Can’t Make This St*ry Up: What If It’s All Happening For Us?, a collaboration with twenty other messengers about the transformation and divine synchronicities experienced in the creative process. Raised by Story: Cultivate Character and Preserve Freedom in Children and Culture is a collaboration with his mom, who co-journeyed through universal themes and millions of miles in characters’ shoes to help him become the intentional co-author of his own story.
Aaron’s passion lies with creating opportunities that value and cultivate the innate superpowers of the individual and put individuals in charge of their personal and professional journeys. Participating in meaningful conversation and sparking solutions to complex problems are what keep him up at night and his flame of motivation burning.
